The Qualities of a Unprofessional, Professional

When I worked at Target the only thing I looked forward to was the paycheck. I hated working overnight, I hated the strain that was put on my back and I definitely hated the people there. It was a huge relief when I finally left that place but I was then thrown into taking care of my father. That felt like the hardest job I ever done in my life. We weren't close to begin with and it's hard for a then twenty year old to become a nurse overnight.

It was a tough few months but it did make me grateful that I could do something as hard as that. I was really proud of myself for helping my family and trying to step up. Now I'm trying to do my best in my first year of college and honestly, I'm doing really good. I was worried about going back but I'm giving it my all. I also enjoy writing so much for the classes. I was more of a slacker in high school but I always enjoyed the writing classes. I like being older and more appreciative of people grading my work.

I wasn't prepared for what life threw at my this year but it looks like I'm going to get through it. For all the bad, a lot of good came out of it too. I showed not only my family but myself that I can do what it takes even if a part of me really doesn't want to. I'm excited where the next year will take me. I'm back in school, in a great new relationship and have the best friends any person could ask for. Life is beginning to make a new normal for me and it's a good one.

let me introduce myself

My name is James Gates

I'm a man that's determined

at roasting you vermin

with these lines I'm spitting

I show that I'm lifting

The responsibilities of everyman

high up in the sky

right above my head

Living to the plan

till the day I die

resting in my bed

Let me reintroduce myself

I'm a man who works hard

I don't give up

till it's enough

and I can say goodbye

I will put my head back in delight
